August 31st

Well it is my Mum's 80th birthday today.
Well since the last update a few things have happened.
I had a few problems with my blood pressure on the 20th which put me in hospital for a couple of hours so my dh and kids went to birthing classes without me!
My sister and I had a day in parramatta on Thursday which was nice until that afternoon when the dreaded phone call come and said our mother had been in a car accident.
Yes once again she has smashed her car!
Once again she mistook the accerator for the brake!
For the third time! in three years!
This time she took out the neighbours brickwork under there house. She shot out across the road and mounted their very clear and empty driveway to do it! She also took out their water main!.
She is ok a bit of whiplash she spent the afternoon and some of the night in hospital getting x rayed etc.
Hopefully this time as the police were called she may lose her licence.
Or maybe since she is now eighty she has to get a certificate maybe the doctor won't give her one!
Got to work a Sunday dh helped me set up as its getting a little harder nowadays.
Saw my mum's car on the Monday she had turned the car almost into a convertible the whole back end smashed in.
Thankfully the neighbour across the road had stripped the car for us.
We really don't know how she survived.
On Wednesday my Aunt arrived.
DH had taken a few days off work which was a real help.
I came down sick with the flu (still have a touch)
Had another birthing class on Wednesday did massage and birth positions.
Took everyone shopping on Thursday bought my mum a digital picture frame for her birthday.
I spent the day in bed on Friday so I could work that afternoon.
On Saturday I went scrapbooking as this would be my last chance to see all these ladies until November!
BY the time I got home my sister from Canberra had arrived.
We all sat around and talked and then got dressed and left for the party at the local RSL.
After a few hiccups it become a good night.
My mum did have a lot of friends. Even my 6th grade teacher from primary school !
My friend Helen and her husband and daughter came up from the Shire I was so happy to see them wish I could have spent more time with them.
I did get to ask them though to be Melody's godparents so now like the boys she has 6 godparents. Hopefully this time for her christening they all can make it.
She will be getting christened on the Australia Day long weekend. Don't know what religion yet or whether it would be a naming ceremony.
Today everyone rang mum which made her happy we had a big breakfast for the family. Dh went out I slept the afternoon away and I do feel a lot better for it.
Hopefully I have almost beaten this flu bug.
This week busy again with everyone leaving!
Wednesday is my hospital visit and birthing class and then Aunt leaves and then my sister flies back to Cairns that night.
I have decided that I will work until I feel I have had enough or I have Melody. Then I will come back in six weeks (if baby is a good one)I have decided to drop my Fridays and just work once a week as if I need a sitter one day is easier then asking someone to watch her two days.

August update

Well its been a few days.
Have had another ultrasound and baby is fine.
Colin took some leave for a couple of days and we tidied up the yard a little.
Saw my friend Helen and her daughter on the 9th. Colin fixed her computer and I started the baby shower invites.
Got a caravan for my sister to stay in
My sister arrived from Cairns a day later then expected due to Virgin Blue plane breaking down.
At least they did refund the money and still flew them.
I had a busy day that wednesday with my sister arriving and being my hospital day and birthing classes starting.
Had a very lazy day that Thursday to recover.
HAd a very lazy weekend as well tried to finish the baby shower invites maybe sometime this week I will finish them.
I will be working on the lounge room this week as we have another skip this weekend.
I have an extra shift this weekend so looking forward to that as its a Sunday shift.
Its my mothers 80th at the end of month so lots of family coming to visit so a full house of visitors.
