What a bad couple of days(long)

On wednesday I was all set to go out and do some scrapbook shopping when my mum decided to move her car from the front of the house and put it into the driveway doing something that we commonly do a few times a week by pulling into the neighbours driveway and pulling out again when her foot slipped off the brake and she hit the accelerator and plowed though the driveway at an angle that she drove though trees and hit a parked car and moved it 10 metres.
Mum's was ok.
She wrote her car off.
She could have so easily have died it was so scary to watch happen right in front of you and not being able to stop it! I was going to call into work that day and inform them that my mum had been in a accident but thought no I better go in.
Then just before I was going to work my cousin rings to tell me that my niece had been injured by her exboyfriend and no knew where her baby was. (It turned out that it was a hoax a woman who doesn't like my niece and was spreading rumours) so I had to call my exbil who I hate to see if my niece was visiting him she wasn't! So I go to work with the thoughts that my mum nearly died today and now my niece and baby are missing and my dh wasn't home from work. SO I wasn't working at my best when the manager calls me into the office and tells me that I have poor performance and that he can terminate then and there on the spot!
So now I'm on probation till the 3rd of May.If I don't improve I lose my job!

What has got to me the most is that at the moment I am doing a TAFE course in Retail Operations to get out of Night Fill. I applied for the job at Coles/Myer to work in Officeworks but Coles asked first and I wanted money and at the time it was right for a family situation.
Since doing the TAFE course my children have been making their own way home and have been on their own for at least a couple of hours in the afternoons without any problems so I am ready for a day job.
Also as part of the course I had to do work experience and you could use your own workplace if you had one so I asked work to fill out my form and that night he constantly bought that fact up and went on and on about there no being a career for me in retail!
That if he filled it out he would give me a bad report! He didn't even read the form it barely asked about performance it is more staff and customer base. He also said I was talking as well!
When someone says something like that you replay the coversions you did have though your mind and yes I did talk but never stopped working once! I was also put on the spot no warnings no time to get a proper witness I did all the things wrong I signed the paperwork was upset now that I know my rights I won't be doing that again!
So that really stuffed up my long weekend.
Also my dh didn't make it home until 12o'clock the next day! and Then he got phone calls all afternoon and on Friday he had to go back to work early in the morning!
But maybe its a blessing in disguise maybe its time to leave before I injury myself. In nightfill it can be so easy to hurt yourself and now with the extra pressure who knows?

Goodness me Dale-Lyn. I am very pleased that your mum is ok. I have done exactly what she did, except the only damage I did was to my own vehicle, but I had my mum and both boys in the car at the time. Scary stuff. Good luck with the job situation - there is nothing worse than an over-zealous supervisor.

Easter hugs
TD xoxo
